👋 Good morning, Albuquerque!
This weekend's forecast? 100% chance of goats. 🐐
The New Mexico Goatheads kick off their first-ever home stand Friday night in Rio Rancho. And just a short walk away, Galloping Goat Pumpkin Patch is ready for visitors. So you can go from goats on hay to goats on ice in a matter of minutes.
Beyond the goats, we've rounded up a free star party, Day of the Dead crafts, trunk-or-treats, growers' markets, pumpkin patches, and plenty more.
Here's your guide to October 16–18.
HELP SHAPE OUR COMMUNITY
Let's take this community offline.
Duke City Parents has grown so much lately, and we're ready to start bringing Albuquerque parents together in real life!
We want to start hosting events where you can meet other parents, make friends, and get out with your kids. But first, we want to hear from you.
What kinds of events would you actually want to attend?
TO DO
Galloping Goat Pumpkin Patch

This is one of those places our family looks forward to every fall. There's so much to do that you could visit multiple times and still find something you missed the last time around.
And it has a pretty cool backstory. Max and Michelle Wade started Galloping Grace Youth Ranch in 2006 to give kids hands-on ranch experiences. They began selling pumpkins to help fund the nonprofit, and that little roadside stand eventually grew into the Galloping Goat Pumpkin Patch families visit today.
Want a closer look? Check out our Instagram reel of Galloping Goats.
Here's what you'll find:

🌽 Giant corn kernel pit and mini corn maze
🎃 Pumpkin bowling and pumpkins to take home

DUKE CITY EATS
Marketplace Coffee + Tea

Part coffee shop, part home decor store, Marketplace Coffee + Tea is a fun little find on Albuquerque’s Northeast side. And if you’re someone who likes browsing little shops while enjoying a good coffee, this one is worth checking out.
While you wait for your drink, you can wander through the shop and browse unique home decor, gifts, and all kinds of little finds. They even have a section with things for the kids, including Warmies, dolls, and other fun trinkets. Just a heads-up: you might leave with a little more than you came for.
The coffee menu is what really caught my attention. They have everything from specialty coffee made with a Chemex to blackberry lattes, matcha mint, London Fogs, and even latte flights. There’s hot chocolate and apple cider, too, so there’s something for just about everyone.
I tried one of the barista specials, a salted caramel shaken espresso topped with Marketplace cold foam, and it was a fun twist on a classic. Pair your drink with one of their pastries or grab a snack while you browse.
Whether you’re looking for a new coffee spot, need a gift, or just want somewhere to spend a little time, this is a fun one to add to your list.
Where: 8600 Pan American Fwy NE, Suite B, Albuquerque, NM 87113
Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–5 PM; Saturday, 8 AM–3 PM; closed Sunday
Cost: Around $3–$15 per person. Expect to spend about $15 if you grab a coffee and pastry.
Good to know: High chairs are available, and dogs are welcome on the patio. They're closed Sundays, so plan your visit for a weekday or Saturday.
